About Hospital Of Emotions

Hospital of Emotions is a large-scale immersive pop up exhibit in Los Angeles that started May 27th, 2026. Rebecca Ann Carver will be making her artistic debut in installation art at this exhibit with her first mirror infinity room open to the public. The ticketed art exhibit has been extended twice until the end of September 2026.

Room #15 Emotion: Joy “Impressionistic Poppies”

Rebecca’s work titled “Impressionistic Poppies” is based on the emotion Joy. While other rooms highlight connections with friends and family bringing joy, Rebecca takes the opposite path exploring the idea that having an entire forest, field or beach to yourself can bring a serenity and calm not easily felt elsewhere. The ability to be in nature without having the pressure to network, perform, or mask for others can be a true relief of societal pressures and bring immense happiness and joy.

Creating Joy

“Impressionistic Poppies” took two months of prep and 17 days of installation. The technical aspects of production was overseen by local LA Production Designer Jeremy Wojchihosky(Room #44, jwvisual.com). The room itself is an infinity mirror room where you can physically step into the field and see the flowers go off to oblivion when you look into the left and right mirrors. If you look at just the right angle the flowers turn almost into a real life impressionistic painting(example shown in top photo)

Why This Work

-It’s not often that you both view art and have the ability to also physically step inside it.

-In an age where we tell others to “go touch grass” as a way to step away from the digital world and reconnect with nature being able to create that piece to share in such an urban environment as Los Angeles is meaningful

-In a hospital setting many have the same negative experiences of anxiety and wanting to be anywhere else and the idea of being able to provide the escapism I seek out personally has been very rewarding
